Jorge Garza, tenor, sings the role of Ferrando in Così fan
tutte, following his West Bay Opera debut
as Tamino in The
Magic Flute.
Mr. Garza has sung the roles of Florville (Rossini, Il
Signor Bruschino) with Gotham Chamber Opera,
Tenor 1 and Billy (Weill, Seven Deadly Sins and Mahagonny
Songspiel double bill) with Liederkranz Opera,
Eurimaco (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria)
with Los Angeles Opera, and Ernesto (Don Pasquale)
with Connecticut Opera. He sang in the American Premiere
of Eric Salzman’s The Last True Words of
Dutch Schultz in New York’s Symphony Space
and in the title role in Lowell Liebermann’s The
Picture of Dorian Gray in Philadelphia. He was
a soloist in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle at
the Caramoor Festival, where he also covered the
role of Carlo (Linda di Chamounix).
Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Mr. Garza resides
in New York, where he received his Bachelor’s
degree at Juilliard and Master’s at the Manhattan
School of Music. He has apprenticed at Glimmerglass
Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Wolftrap Opera, Los Angeles
Opera, and San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program. |
