Brian Thorsett, tenor, sings the role of Ferrando
in Così fan
tutte. Previous appearances with West Bay
Opera include Edmondo (Manon
Lescaut) and Tamino (The
Magic Flute).
During the 2007-08 season, Mr. Thorsett also undertakes
the roles of Agenore and Alessandro (Il rè pastore),
Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Roberto (Roberto
Devereux), Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola),
and Fenton (The Merry Wives of Windsor). Concert
engagements include the Evangelist in Schütz’s Weihnachtshistorie with
Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Handel’s Ode
on St. Ceclia’s Day and Look Down, Harmonious
Saint, Mendelssohn’s Die Erste Walpurgisnacht,
Schubert’s Mass No. 5, and Scarlatti’s Stabat
Mater.
Mr. Thorsett is a graduate of San Francisco Opera’s
Merola Training Program, was a Glimmerglass Young American
Artist, and spent two summers at the Music Academy
of the West studying with Marilyn Horne. |
