Cathleen Candia, mezzo-soprano, sings the role of Lola in Cavalleria rusticana, following her West Bay Opera debut as a grisette in The Merry Widow.

A finalist in the Henry and Maria Holt Competition, Ms. Candia has performed roles including Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Charlotte (Werther), and the title role in Carmen. This past summer, she attended the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, where she performed the role of Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte). She has also appeared with the Opera Institute of California and at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

A native Californian, Ms. Candia holds a BA in Art History/Archaeology and Spanish Literature from Willamette University in Oregon.
