Bryan
Glenn Davis, bass-baritone, makes his West Bay Opera debut singing
the title role in Der
fliegende Holländer.
Mr. Davis debuted as Monterone (Rigoletto) with Florentine
Opera in Milwaukee, and has sung the roles of Masetto (Don Giovanni)
with Michigan Opera Theatre, and the Bonze (Madama Butterfly)
and Gran Sacerdote (Nabucco)
with Utah Festival Opera. Recently, he sang Timur (Turandot) with Sacramento
Opera, Sparafucile (Rigoletto) with Eugene Opera, Banquo (Macbeth)
withConnecticut Grand Opera, Abimelech (Samson and Delilah) with Indianapolis
Opera, Baron Duphol (La traviata) with Toledo Opera, and Second Armored
Man (Die Zaubeflöte)
with Santa Fe Opera. He was a finalist in the Opera Columbus, Richard Tucker,
and Metropolitan Opera competitions, and was an apprentice artist with Santa
Fe Opera, Utah Festival Opera Company, and the Sarasota Opera. He has been heard
with a number of orchestras as soloist in Handel’s Messiah, the
Verdi Requiem, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
A native of Columbus,
Ohio, Mr. Davis holds a Master of Music degree from Ohio State University
and currently resides in New York City. |
