Scott Six, tenor, makes his West Bay Opera debut singing the
roles of Turiddu in Cavalleria
rusticana and Canio/Pagliaccio in Pagliacci.
Mr. Six’s recent engagements include First Armored Man/Second
Priest (Die Zauberflöte) at Portland Opera, and covering
the roles of the Steersman (Der fliegende Holländer)
at Seattle Opera and Standing Bear in the world premiere of Anthony
Davis and Yusef Komunyakaa’s Wakonda’s Dream at
Opera Omaha. In 2006, with Glimmerglass Opera, he sang
the role of the Sergeant (Il barbiere di Siviglia), and
covered the role of Monsieur Loiseau in the world premiere of Stephen
Hartke’s The Greater Good. He also appeared with
Portland Opera as Spoletta (Tosca), Malcolm (Macbeth), and
the Male Chorus(Britten, The Rape of Lucretia).
A Bay Area native, Mr. Six was a regional finalist in the Metropolitan
Opera Council’s National Auditions in 2006, and was a finalist
in Portland Opera’s Eleanor Lieber vocal competition. Earlier
this year, he was a finalist in the inaugural Irene Dalis Voice
Competition in San José. |
