Gail Sullivan, soprano, sings the role of Senta in Der
fliegende Holländer, following
her West Bay Opera debut as Santuzza in Cavalleria
rusticana and Nedda/Colombina in Pagliacci.
While under contract in Regensburg, Germany, Ms. Sullivan sang the roles of Elisabetta (Don Carlo), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), Fidelio (Fidelio), Margherita/Elena (Mefistofele) and Senta (Der fliegende Holländer). For two seasons, she was on the roster of the Metropolitan Opera covering the roles of Fourth Maid (Elektra), Barena (Jenûfa), and Ortlinde (Die Walküre).
She has appeared as Brünnhilde (Die Walküre)
with New Jersey Concert Opera and the Wagner Theater Program, Turandot
with Opera Spectives in New York City, and Donna Anna (Don
Giovanni)
and Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) with
Erfurt (Germany) Opernhaus.
Ms. Sullivan, a native of Iowa, is also
the co-author of Kein’ Angst,
Baby!, a guide for singers auditioning in Germany. She is
the recipient of grants from the Liederkranz, Sullivan, and Gerda
Lissner Foundations. |
