West Bay Opera
Annika Bäckström
Annika recently came to the Bay Area having followed a path that began
in Sweden, passed through much of Europe and across America, studying
music, theatre, languages, animals, nature and indigenous cultures.
Significant stops to study voice have been at the Stockholm Opera,
Malmöo Stadsteater, Chicago, Madison, New York, and Los Angeles,
as well as the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign,
where she earned a BFA and an MA in music and theatre.
