Torlef A. Borsting, baritone, makes his West Bay Opera debut
as Prince Yeletsky in The
Queen of Spades.
Mr. Borsting’s recent roles include Jack Rance (The
Girl of the Golden West) with Berkeley Opera, a Soldier
(The Maid of Orleans) with San Francisco Opera, and
Streshnev (Khovanshchina). Other roles include Don Giovanni
and Masetto (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Il barbiere
di Siviglia),
Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Marcello (La bohème),
Bob (Menotti, The Old Maid and the Thief), Moralès
(Carmen), Marquis d’Obigny (La traviata),
Bob Beckett (H.M.S. Pinafore), Major Theodore Barfield
(Jorge Martín, Tobermory), Kaspar (Amahl
and the Night Visitors), and Peter (Hansel and Gretel).
He will debut with North Bay Opera as Zaretsky (Eugene Onegin)
and is returning to San Francisco Opera in the role of a Scythian
(Iphigenie en Tauride) during 2007.
Mr. Borsting also maintains a busy oratorio schedule, performing
with Symphony Parnassus, Oakland Civic Orchestra, Oakland Youth
Orchestra, Pacific Mozart Ensemble, Morristown (NJ) Choral Society,
Eugene Symphony, Oregon Bach Festival, and Kodály
Summer Institute. |
