Amy Bouchard, mezzo-soprano, sings the role of Valencienne in The
Merry Widow, following her West Bay Opera debut as
the Madrigal Singer in Manon
Lescaut.
A finalist in the Schubert Club Competition and the Roy A. Schussler
Vocal Competition, Ms. Bouchard has performed roles including The
Woman (Poulenc, La Voix humaine), Hansel (Hansel and
Gretel), Zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Cherubino
(Le nozze di Figaro), and Vera Boronel (The Consul).
Since moving to the Bay Area, Ms. Bouchard has appeared with Livermore
Valley Opera, Pocket Opera, Stockton Opera, Townsend Opera Players,
and the Opera Academy of California, recently founded by Yefim
Meizel. She was most recently seen with Livermore Valley Opera
as Pitti-Sing (The Mikado) and the Townsend Opera Players
as Dorabella (Così fan tutte).
Ms. Bouchard, a native Californian who recently returned to her
home state, holds a Master of Music degree from the University
of Texas at Austin, and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of
Music degree from Vanderbilt University. |
