Marnie Breckenridge

MarnieMarnie Breckenridge, soprano, sings the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor. Ms. Breckenridge’s earlier roles at West Bay Opera include Corilla Sartinecchi (Viva la mamma), Cunegonde (Candide), and Pamina (The Magic Flute).

Ms. Breckenridge has appeared with San Francisco Opera as Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Inez (Il trovatore), Olga (The Merry Widow), and Ida (Die Fledermaus). With Arizona Opera, she sang the role of Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) and Yum-Yum (The Mikado). She sang Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) with Opera Company of Brooklyn and with Sacramento Opera. With North Bay Opera, she sang the title role in The Ballad of Baby Doe, Musetta (La bohème), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni), winning the “Arty Award” for Best Supporting Actress. With Festival Opera, she sang Gilda (Rigoletto) and will return this year to sing Cunegonde (Candide). Other engagements include leading roles with Nevada Opera, Intermountain Opera, Brazilian Opera Society São Paulo, and San Francisco Lyric Opera. Ms. Breckenridge made her San Francisco Davies Symphony Hall debut singing the soprano solos in Handel’s Messiah under Michael Barrett. Additional symphony credits include Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the Tassajara Symphony and Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem, and Bachianas Brazileras No. 5 with the Vallejo Symphony.

Ms. Breckenridge is a Metropolitan Opera National Council Regional Winner, National Grand Finalist in the Loren L. Zachary Society competition, MacAllister Awards Regional finalist, Mu Phi Epsilon winner, and past apprentice artist with Santa Fe Opera. She received her Master’s Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
