Lara Bruckmann

Line

LaraLara Bruckmann, soprano, sings the role of Masha in The Queen of Spades, following her West Bay Opera debut singing the role of First Lady in The Magic Flute. She was previously heard at West Bay Opera’s Superstar Competition in 2003, in which she placed third.

Ms. Bruckmann appeared with the Colorado Lyric Theater Festival as Arsena (The Gypsy Baron), Oakland Opera Theater as Minnie Belle (Weill, Johnny Johnson), with Pforzheimer Opera as Dido, and at the Diego Rivera Theater as Aldonza/Dulcinea (Man of La Mancha). Her solo concert appearances include Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb with the San Francisco Choral Society, Bruckner’s Requiem with the Arlington-Belmont Chorale, and Wie ein Kind (Per Nørgård) with the ensemble Volti.

Ms. Bruckmann’s cabaret resume includes many appearances at San Francisco’s Plush Room (including two solo shows), her own one-woman show divagation, which premiered at the 2004 San Francisco Fringe Festival, and ongoing work as one of the founding members of the cabaret trio Girlkulture (with Anja Strauss, Darla Wigginton, and pianist Daniel Lockert), which performs rare Weimar cabaret and American Big Band numbers. She will next be seen as Lucy (The Telephone) with Oakland Lyric Opera.
