John Burton, bass-baritone, sings the role of the Doctor in Macbeth. Previous roles with West Bay Opera include Fiorello in (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Geronte di Ravoir Manon Lescaut). Mr. Burton was a finalist in the West Bay Opera Superstar Competition in October 2003.

A recent graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in English Literature, Mr. Burton is now pursuing opera as a career. He is currently studying voice at San Jose State with Erie Mills. His first role was with North Bay Opera as the jailer (Tosca).
