Elizabeth
Caballero, soprano, makes her West Bay Opera debut in the role of Donna
Elvira in Don
Giovanni. Ms. Caballero made her professional debut in 2000 as Micaëla
(Carmen) with the Florida Grand Opera. In 2001, she performed Fiordiligi
(Così fan tutte) with the Merola Opera Program of San Francisco
Opera, repeating the role with the Western Opera Theater’s 2001
national tour. In 2002, she returned
to Merola to sing the role of Mimi (La bohème) and appeared
in the Schwabacher Debut Recital
Series. She also performed the role of Sharon
Graham in Terrance
McNally’s Tony Award winning play Master Class.
Ms. Caballero, a Cuban native, was a National Grand Finalist in the 2001
Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She
sang the role of Micaëla with Mobile Opera, and Musetta
(La
bohème) with Florida Grand
Opera.
She joined the roster of the San Francisco Opera as an Adler Fellow,
making her main stage debut for the company as the Celestial Voice
(Don
Carlos). Upcoming
engagements for Ms. Caballero include Donna Elvira (Don
Giovanni) with Mobile Opera, and First Lady (Die Zauberflöte) with Palm Beach
Opera.
