Karen Carle
Mezzo-Soprano Karen Carle has appeared with many musical
organizations on the West Coast.
Operatic credits inlude Nedda in Pagliacci,
Hnsel in Hansel and Gretel, Mercédès
Carmen,, The Governess in The Turn of the Screw,
Mme. Larina in Eugene Onegin, and Verdi's
Oberto (Cuniza), Falstaff (Meg Page), and
Rigoletto (Giovanna). She has
performed with Rogue Opera, Marin Opera, Pocket Opera,
Cinnabar Opera, and Sacramento Opera.
She has appeared frequently on stage at the Mendocino Music Festival,
as the Second Lady in The Magic Flute,
Flora in La Traviata, and this past summer in the role of
Tisbe in Rossini's La Cenerentola.
A frequent guest artist with Napa Symphony, she has
appeared in Handel's Messiah, Bach's Magnificat,
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Grieg's Peer Gynt,
the Wine Country Pops Concert, and most recently, the Verdi
Requiem. Messiah credits include a nationally
telecast "Sing-It-Yourself" performance from Davis Symphony Hall
and a performance with the Fremont/Newark Philharmonic.
Ms. Carle has also performed Mozart's Requiem with the
Sacramento Symphony,
Beethoven's Mass in C with the La Jolla Symphony,
Mozart's Mass in C minor with the San Francisco City Chorus,
and Bach's Magnificat with Soli Deo Gloria.
Ms. Carle has been a district winner and Pacific Regional finalist
in the Metropolitan Opera Competition, as well as a finalist in the
MacAllister International Vocal Competition.
