West Bay Opera

Baritone Matthew Cavicke made his operatic debut last fall in West Bay Opera's production of The Italian Girl in Algiers. Since then, he has performed two roles in Madama Butterfly for Mission Opera Theater. Future engagements include Hortensius in Daughter of the Regiment with Pocket Opera. Mr. Cavicke graduated from Stanford University in 1997 with a BA in Music. During his time there he appeared as a soloist with the University Singers in their performances of the Fauré and Duruflé Requiems. He was the 1997 recipient of the Rita Taylor Prize for Vocal Performance. More recently Mr. Cavicke participated in Stanford's production of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. He plans to pursue a masters degree in singing on the east coast in the fall of 1999.
