Brett Colby

BrettPiquillo (La Périchole) is Brett Colby’s debut role with West Bay Opera. Brett Colby has been widely acclaimed for his strong interpretive and vocal skills. His current season includes engagements with Opera Illinois as Goro (Madama Butterfly); Mobile Opera as El Remendado (Carmen); North Arkansas Symphony as Kaspar (Amahl and the Night Visitors); Brookyln Opera as Monastatos (Die Zauberflöte); and in Rosenheim, Germany, where he performed concert performances as David (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and Pedrillo (Die Entführung aus dem Serail). Engagements from last season include Utah Festival Opera as Little Bat McLean (Susannah) and Florenze (Naughty Marietta); Rimrock Opera as Camille (The Merry Widow); New York Opera Forum as Loge (Das Rheingold); New Amsterdam Opera as Der Junger Diener (Elektra); and State Repertory Opera of New Jersey as Sam (The Ballad of Baby Doe) and Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro). Next season, Mr. Colby debuts with Viginia Opera as Goro (Madama Butterfly), and at New Jersey’s Passage Theatre as David (Susie Ibarra, Shangri-La—world premiere). He will also return to Opera Illinois as Dr. Blind (Die Fledermaus) and Brooklyn Opera as Pedrillo (Die Entführung aus dem Serail).
