Jason Detwiler
From 2002-06, Mr. Detwiler sang with Opera San José as a Principal Resident Artist, singing the roles of Falke (Die Fledermaus), Dandini (La cenerentola), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) Valentin (Faust), Sylvio (Pagliacci), Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana), Conte di Luna (Il trovatore), Escamillo (Carmen), Marcello (La Boheme), Renato (Un ballo in maschera), Scarpia (Tosca), Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Zurga (Les pechêurs de perles), John Proctor (The Crucible), and the title roles in Don Giovanni, Figaro, and Der fliegende Holländer. His roles with other companies include The Pilgrim (The Pilgrim’s Progress), Musiklehrer and Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos), and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte). Mr. Detwiler has also performed with Apollo Opera, San Francisco Lyric Opera, Sacramento Opera, Opera Idaho, Trinity Lyric Opera, and Festival Opera in Walnut Creek. The 2007-2008 season will see his debuts as Jack Rance (La Fanciulla del West) with Rimrock Opera and Sylvio/Mr. Gobineau in a double bill of I Pagliacci/The Medium with Syracuse Opera.
