Megan
Dey-Toth, mezzo-soprano, debuts with West Bay Opera in the role of Sesto
in La clemenza di Tito. Recent
engagements have included Charlotte (Werther) with Sarasota Opera
and Dicapo Opera Theatre, young Offred in the American premiere of Ruders’ The
Handmaid’s Tale with
Minnesota Opera, and Hansel (Hansel and Gretel) with Arizona Opera.
She has also performed Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) with Sarasota
Opera, Siebel (Faust) with Los Angeles Opera and New Orleans Opera,
and Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) with Los Angeles Opera. Her
operatic debut was as Pauline (The Queen of Spades) with Central
City Opera. She has also sung roles with San Diego Opera, Long Beach
Opera, Opera San José, and Glimmerglass Opera.
Equally at home on the concert stage, Ms. Dey-Toth has performed as soloist
with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra in Mahler’s Das Lied von
der Erde and with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen’s
baton. She has performed in recital at Carnegie Hall in a concert of
Mahler lieder, and in art song recitals with Lyric Fest in Philadelphia.
Ms. Dey-Toth was a resident artist with Los Angeles Opera and an apprentice
artist with Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, and Central City Opera. She
studied at Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts and in Italy as a Fulbright
Grant recipient. She was raised in the East Bay.
