Andrew Eisenmann
American baritone Andrew Eisenmann began his professional opera career with
Opera San José in their Principal Artist in Residence Program. Mr.
Eisenmann has sung many leading baritone roles for San José, including
Marcello and Schaunard in La Bohème, Valentin in Faust,
Silvio (Pagliacci), Sharpless, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di
Figaro, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, the title role in Eugene
Onegin, Monterone in Rigoletto, Germont, Zurga in Les
pêcheurs de perles, Escamillo, and Count Danilo (The Merry
Widow). In addition to his work at Opera San José, Mr. Eisenmann
has performed with the Northern California Wagner Society, where he sang the
role of Donner in Das Rheingold, and with the Mendocino Music Festival,
where he most recently portrayed Count Monterone. He has appeared with the
Bel Canto South Valley Opera as Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore and with
the Apollo Opera as Sharpless. He has also been seen in the musical Damn
Yankees with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and has performed for three seasons
with the Redding Symphony.
In concert, Mr. Eisenmann has performed as guest soloist in Bach's charming
and amusing Coffee Cantata, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart's
Requiem, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, Rossini's Petite
Messe Solenelle, Bloch's Sacred Service, and Fauré's
Requiem. His extensive recital repertoire includes Ralph Vaughan
Williams' Songs of Travel, Ravel's Chanson madecasses, and
the world premiere of Craig Bohmler's Why I Like Movies.
