West Bay Opera
Kristin Genis
Kristin Genis, lyric coloratura soprano, has performed extensively
throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in musical theatre, oratorio,
opera and recitals. Concert appearances include Haydn's
Lord Nelson Mass and Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore,
among others. She has been active in mainstage productions of
Opera San José as well as
other Bay Area Opera companies. Roles include Mademoiselle Silberklang
in Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor, Nella in Gianni Schicchi,
Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Sister Genevieve in
Suor Angelica, Frasquita in Carmen, and the title role in
Manon. Musical theatre roles include Laurey in Peninsula Musical
Theater's Oklahoma! and Maria in Peninsula Center Stage's
West Side Story.
Ms. Genis was the first place winner in the 1992, 1993 and 1996
NATS Competition for Art Song and Opera and a finalist in the 1996 San
Francisco Concerto Orchestra Vocalist Competition. She presently studies
with Pamela Fry in Palo Alto.
