Jane Hammett
Ms. Hammett has performed a variety of roles in opera, operetta and musical theatre, from Mozart’s Despina to Lloyd Webber’s Carlotta. Bay Area audiences will remember her award-winning performances for San Francisco’s Lamplighters, which include leading soprano roles in nearly the entire Gilbert and Sullivan canon, as well as Adele (Die Fledermaus), Lisa (Countess Maritza), Valencienne (The Merry Widow), and Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady). A regular with Pocket Opera, she has appeared as Olympia, Anna (The Merry Widow), Almirena (Rinaldo), Blondie (Yanked from the Harem), the Marchioness (King for a Day), and Eurydice (Orpheus in the Underworld). For nearly four years she performed in San Francisco and cities across the U.S. in The Phantom of the Opera, including many performances as opera diva Carlotta Giudicelli. Her solo CD, Home, A Healing Journey, may be sampled online.
