Catherine Hand, soprano, makes her West Bay Opera debut singing the role of a grisette in The Merry Widow.

Ms. Hand has relocated to the Bay Area from Palm Desert where she performed the leading roles in La traviata, Così fan tutte, La sonnambula, Il barbiere di siviglia, and The Elixir of Love. In concert, she has also sung the roles of Maria (West Side Story), Adelaide (Guys and Dolls), and Monica (The Medium). She has won Best Lead Actress awards from The Desert Theater League for her performance of Violetta (La traviata) and Olympia (The Tales of Hoffman).
