Malinda Haslett
Soprano Malinda Haslett makes her debut this season with West Bay Opera as
Musetta. She was proclaimed by Opera News as an "unalloyed delight" in her
portrayal of Oscar in Un ballo in maschera
with the Atlanta Opera. Her other roles include Gilda,
Nannetta in Falstaff, Marie in Daughter of the Regiment,
Leila in Les pêcheurs de perles,
and Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos.
She has sung with the Sarasota Opera, Lyric Opera of Cleveland, New Orleans Opera,
Virginia Opera, Chautauqua Opera, the Santa Barbara Symphony,
Bar Harbor Music Festival, Orchestra of St. Luke, and the Music Academy of
the West. This season Ms. Haslett will make her debut in pops concerts with
the Calgary Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and the Portland Orchestra,
performing selections ranging from Viennese waltzes to Broadway standbys.
She will conclude this season with a third return to Ocean City Pops, New Jersey,
fand with her second visit to the Bar Harbor Music Festival in Maine as the
Art Song Recitalist.
