Patrice Houston
Patrice Houston, mezzo soprano, makes her West Bay Opera debut singing the role of Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor. Born and educated in San José, Ms. Houston earned a Bachelor of Music degree from San José State University under the tutelage of Irene Dalis, Joseph Frank, and Jeanne Garson. Ms. Houston has performed such roles as Dido, Ulrica, Frugola, and La Zia Principessa, and is currently developing Azucena, Amneris, Fricka, and Dalila to expand her repertoire. She has performed with Opera San José and Walnut Creek Festival Opera, and has also performed in Holland, Italy, and Germany. Ms. Houston was most recently heard as the alto soloist in the Mozart Requiem with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra of Den Haag, Holland. Appearances for 2005 include Frugola (Il tabarro) with Berkeley Opera and Ulrica (Un ballo in maschera) for both San Francisco Lyric and Walnut Creek Festival Opera.
