Tatiana Ishemova
Tatiana Ishemova, mezzo-soprano, received her musical training at the
St. Petersburg Conservatory. She was resident with the Latvian Opera
Company in Riga and has performed extensively throughout the former
Soviet Union in a wide variety of operatic roles, as well as with numerous
orchestras in the symphonic choral music of Mozart, Bach, Brahms, and
Verid, including the Verdi Requiem and Bach's St. Matthew
Passion. Since moving to the United States in 1993, Miss Ishemova
has performed the Bach Magnificat and Kodály's Missa
Brevis. She has appeared in the Kennedy Center for the Performing
Arts and with the Washington Opera Camerata. She performed the Verdi
Requiem with the McLean Symphony in 1995 and with the Arlington
Symphony in 1997. Her performances of Handel's Messiah and the
Bach Magnificat with the Arlington Symphony were televised.
Miss Ishemova performed in Suor Angelica at the Hartke Theatre
in Washington, D.C> in September, and in Adriana Lecouvreur with
the Washington Opera Camerata in January. She recently performed the role
of Amneris with the Boston Commonwealth Opera at the Massachusetts
International Festival of the Arts, and is scheduled to perform the
role of Laura in La Gioconda in California later this year.
