Ken Malucelli

Ken Malucelli debuts with West Bay Opera as First Notary and Jailer in La Périchole, roles he first performed in the mid 1970s, in two separate seasons with San Francisco Opera’s Spring Opera, during his 18-year tenure with them as a Professional Chorister. He was a featured artist for Spring Opera’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (Notario) and their world premiere of Imbrie’s Angle of Repose (First Guest). An eight-year veteran of San Francisco’s Lamplighters, Mr. Malucelli appeared there as Alfred (Die Fledermaus), and as Gilbert & Sullivan characters Alexis (Sorcerer), Tolloller (Iolanthe), Pish-Tush (Mikado), Boatswain (HMS Pinafore), Samuel (Pirates of Penzance), Major (Patience), Counsel (Trial by Jury), and others.
Mr. Malucelli recently debuted at Lyric Theatre, San José, as Reginald Bunthorne (Patience) and Tolloller; and debuts with Redwood Symphony this spring as Ko-Ko (Mikado), also directing that production. Additional directing credits include Stanford Savoyards (Mikado), Lyric Theatre (Pinafore), Lamplighters (Gala VI), San Francisco Girls Chorus (The Impressario, Mozart, and Princess Ida, Gilbert & Sullivan), San Francisco Boys Chorus (Mikado, Pirates of Penzance), and his own Gilbert & Sullivan potpourri troupe, Savoy Express, which tours across the country.
