Deborah Mayhan
Soprano Deborah Mayhan make her West Bay Opera debut as Marguerite.
She has most recently sung the role of Clorinda in La Cenerentola
with Santa Barbara, and she created the role of Arcangela in the world
premiere of Serafina y Arcangela by Enrique Gonzalez-Medina in a
highly acclaimed performance in Mexico. Other operatic roles include
Gilda, Gretel, Musetta, Madame Silverklang in The Impresario,
Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Micaëla, Nanetta in
La finta semplice, and Sandrina in L'infedeltà delusa.
Equally at home in concert and oratorio, her recent highlights include
the Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras and the Bach Magnificat
with the Santa Rosa Symphony conducted by Jeffrey Kahane.
An alumna of the Israel Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv directed by
Joan Dornemann, Ms. Mayhan was also a Western Regional Finalist in the
Metropolitan Opera Auditions, and won the Young Artist of the Future
contest in Los Angeles.
