Amy McKenzie

Soprano Amy McKenzie is pleased to return to the West Bay Opera stage as The Foreign Woman. She made her company debut as Elvira in The Italian Girl in Algiers, and recently performed the role of Frasquita in Carmen. She received her Bachelor's of Music degree with Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and her Master's of Music from Holy Names College. While at Eastman Ms. McKenzie performed in several opera productions including Dialogues of the Carmelites, Suor Angelica, and The Mother of Us All. She also performed Despina in Così fan tutte at Inspiration Fine Arts Colony, and spent a summer as a young artist at the Ohio Light Opera. Last Spring, she performed Handel's Psalm 112 with the Magnificat Baroque Orchestra. Ms. McKenzie has received awards from the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Civic Morning Musicals, and the San José Young Artist Awards, and recently won second place at the Regional level of the NATSA competition.
