Heather Michele Meyer

Lyric soprano Heather Meyer has performed in and around the Bay Area in both opera and oratorio. Most recently she was seen with the West Marin Music Festival as the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro. Her credits include the Governess in West Bay Opera's The Turn of the Screw, the Sandman in Golden Gate Opera's Hansel and Gretel, and Flaminia in West Marin Music Festival's 1998 production of Haydn's Il mondo della luna, to name just a few. She created the role of Novía with Underworld Opera in Así Que Pasen Cinco Años, a new work by Bay Area composer Thomas Dean based on the play by Federico García Lorca.

Recent concert works include Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Virgine, Schubert's Mass in G, Bruckner's Requiem, and Beethoven's Mass in C. A strong advocate of contemporary classical music, she has performed premieres of both art song and opera with composers at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Underworld Opera. An avid chamber recitalist as well, in recent years she has presented performances of Ravel's Chansons madécasses and Trois poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé, and Stravinsky's Three Japanese lyrics. Ms. Meyer is happy to be performing on the West Bay Opera stage again.
