Daniel Morris

Daniel Morris returns to West Bay Opera in the role of Silvano in Un ballo in Maschera.. Mr. Morris' other appearances with the company have included the roles of Angelotti in Tosca, Monterone in Rigoletto, the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana, Kilian and Ottokar in Der Freischütz, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Valentin in Faust, and Escamillo in Carmen. Mr. Morris has also sung with Opera San José, Monterey Opera, Fresno Lyric Opera, Pocket Opera, and with school outreach programs for Opera San Josˇ, West Bay Opera, and Opera à la Carte. His roles include Marcello in La bohème, Betto in Gianni Schicchi, Count Robinson in Cimarosa's The Secret Marriage, the Vicar in Albert Herring, Melchior and Balthazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, the Marquis in La traviata, and Damis in Kirke Mechem's Tartuffe. Among Mr. Morris' musical theater credits are major roles in Camelot, The Fantasticks, The Secret Garden, and Little Mary Sunshine.

Mr. Moris' concert work has included Carmina Burana with the Sacramento Symphony, Beethoven's 9th with the Eureka Symphony, and the Mozart Requiem and Haydn's Dettingen Te deum with Schola Cantorum.

Mr. Morris has been a District Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Competition and a Regional Finalist in the McAllister Competition. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from San Jose State University and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Liturgy from Santa Clara University. He is currently on the music faculty at De Anza College.
