Isaiah Musik-Ayala, bass-baritone, makes his West Bay Opera
debut singing the role of Surin in The
Queen of Spades.
Mr. Musik-Ayala’s recent operatic roles include Pistola
(Falstaff) with Berkeley Opera and the Doctor (Macbeth)
with North Bay Opera. His professional debut in 2003 was in the
role of Prince Yamadori (Madame Butterfly) with Bayshore
Lyric Opera. Other roles include Sharpless (Madame Butterfly),
Kezal (The Bartered Bride), Frank (Die Fledermaus ),
Escamillo (Carmen), Sarastro (The Magic Flute),
and Santiago in the world premiere of the chamber musical Viva
Concha! He has also appeared as the featured bass soloist
with the Solano Symphony in their past two Winter Concerts, singing
in Schubert’s Mass No.6 and Haydn’s Lord
Nelson Mass.
A native of northern California, Mr. Musik-Ayala received his
Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory
in Ohio. |
