David Robinson
Born in Mexico, Mr. Robinson began his career as a finalist for two consecutive years of the Carlo Morelli National Voice Competition. Subsequently, the National Opera of Mexico engaged him as a soloist. Recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, he attended the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He has sung with acclaimed opera companies throughout the United States, including Opera Orchestra of New York, Sarasota Opera, Washington National Opera, Palm Beach, and Los Angeles Opera. He has also performed in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the United Nations. Upcoming engagements include Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Solemn Vespers to celebrate the composer’s 250th anniversary, Leandro (Sorozabal, La tabernera del puerto) in New Mexico and Texas, Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly) in Mexico, as well as roles in La Rondine and Ariadne auf Naxos with Lyric Opera of San Diego. Next spring Mr. Robinson returns to Los Angeles Opera in Torroba’s Luisa Fernanda, and a series of concerts and recitals in South America and the United States.
