Alaine Rodin

Line

AlaineAlaine Rodin, soprano, sings the role of Liza in The Queen of Spades. Previously at West Bay Opera, she sang the role of Ännchen (Der Freischütz).

Last summer, Ms. Rodin sang the title role of Tosca with Belleayre Music Festival. Upcoming engagements include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) with Opera Grand Rapids, Verdi’s Requiem with the Sacramento Choral Society, and Julie (Showboat) and Clara (Porgy and Bess) with Utah Festival Opera. She has also appeared as Micaela (Carmen) with the Opera Comique, Woglinde (Das Rheingold) with New Orleans Opera, Marguerite (Faust) with Augusta Opera, and Liu (Turandot) with Opera de Guatemala and La Compañia Lírica Nacional de Costa Rica.

Ms. Rodin is a past member of the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists at the Chicago Lyric Opera. A native of Berkeley, she holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School. Awards to her credit include the American Berlin Foundation Grant, Shoshana Foundation’s Richard F. Gold Career Grant, NAACP ACT-SO Competition Award, first place YWCA Competition Award (New York City), and the Bel Canto Competition Award.
