Courtney Ross, soprano, makes her West Bay Opera debut singing
the role of Hanna Glawari in The
Merry Widow.
Ms. Ross has performed the roles of Adina (L’elisir
d’amore), Musetta in La bohème), Despina
in Così fan tutte), Ann (The Merry Wives
of Windsor), Laurie (Oklahoma), and Kate (Kiss
me Kate). She has been a guest soloist with the National
Opera Association, Spotlight on the Arts in Virginia, the Waterford
Concert series, and the National Philharmonic in Washington,
DC. She recently placed second at the San Diego Regional NATS
competition, and was the third place winner of the La Jolla Symphony
and Chorus Young Artist Competition. She premiered the role of
Sarah in Richard Thompson’s The Mask in the Mirror.
This summer she will be singing the roles of Valencienne (The
Merry Widow) and Xanthe/Aphrodite in Mark Adamo’s
new opera Lysistrata at the Seagle Music Colony in upstate
New York.
Ms. Ross received her Masters in Voice from Cincinnati College
Conservatory of Music, and her Bachelors from Shenandoah
Conservatory in Virginia. |
