Ellen St. Thomas
Ellen St. Thomas is delighted to return to West Bay Opera as Anna Gomez
in The Consul. She made her debut here in 1997 as the First Lady in
The Magic Flute, and was heard last year as Miss Jessel in
The Turn of the Screw. She has recently appeared as Donna Elvira
in Don Giovanni with Mission Opera Theatre and as the Countess in
Livermore Valley Opera's Marriage of Figaro. Other performances
include the title role and the Mayor's Wife in City Opera Theatre of
San Francisco's production of Jenufa. Upcoming performances
include the Countess in a production of Le nozze di Figaro this
summer for the West Marin Music Festival.
Miss St. Thomas has performed opera, oratorio, and recitals on both the
East and West Coasts.
Ellen's opera repertoire includes Mimì,
Micaela, Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes, and Madam in Pasatieri's
La Divana. Her concert repertoire includes the Mozart Mass in
C Minor, Brahms' German Requiem, and the Rutter Requiem.
She studied voice and opera performance at American
University in Washington, D.C., University of Maryland, and the Crittenden
Opera Studio in New York.
She was a winner in the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra Music Arts Competition
in 1996.
