Claudio Santomé

Line

ClaudioClaudio Santomé, tenor, makes his West Bay Opera debut singing the role of Malcom in Macbeth.

A native of Argentina, Mr. Santomé performed Aida at Teatro Colón. His operatic roles include Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Rodolfo (La bohème), and Cavaradossi (Tosca).

In 1996, Mr. Santomé emigrated to the U.S., where he has participated as soloist in Ramirez’s Misa Criolla at St. Andrews Cathedral, in Grand Rapids, MI, and at Hertz Hall in Berkeley.  Most recently he performed Mahler’s Rückert and Des Knaben Wunderhorn songs with Prometheus Symphony in Oakland. He can be heard on Berkeley Community Symphony’s live recording of Carmina Burana and seen on KQED in live recordings of Carmina Burana  with the Peninsula Ballet Theatre, and a production of Zarzuela Night with the Jarvis Conservatory.

Mr. Santomé is an accomplished voice teacher with a studio in San Francisco, and since 2000 has been music director and featured soloist with Andanza Spanish Arts, performing Zarzuela and Classical Spanish repertoire at the San Francisco International Film Festival, Dominican University, and NTD-TV Chinese New Year Gala, and for the Consul General of Spain.
