Jordan Shanahan
Jordan Shanahan, baritone, sings the role of Lord Enrico Ashton in Lucia di Lammermoor. Last season Mr. Shanahan made his West Bay Opera debut singing the title role in Il barbiere di Siviglia. Mr. Shanahan has recently been seen with the Netherlands Opera, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, the Munich Philharmonic, Hawai’i Opera Theatre, and the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival. Favorites from among his numerous roles have been Joe (Dead Man Walking), Silvio (Pagliacci), Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Marcello (La bohème), and of course, Rossini’s Figaro. The past year has brought numerous awards in competitions around the world, including the George London Foundation, the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition, and the Elardo Competition, among others. By winning first place in the Northwest Regional Competition, Mr. Shanahan has qualified for the Metropolitan Opera National Council’s National Semi-Final to be held in March in New York. Other upcoming projects include work with the Santa Fe Opera and a return to the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival.
