West Bay Opera
Barbara Grimm Sloss
Mezzo-soprano Barbara Grimm Sloss has appeared in more than 20 productions
with West Bay Opera.
Earlier this season she appeared as Kate Pinkerton in
Madama Butterfly.
Other West Bay Opera roles include Zulma in
The Italian Girl in Algiers,
Inez in Il trovatore, and the Second Lady in
The Magic Flute.
She also performed the role
of the Third Lady in West Bay Opera's 40-minute Magic Flute for
schools, and participated as soloist in the Sunlight Series performance
PDQ Bach and Others. Other
productions include Candide, Carmen, and
The Marriage of Figaro. She
has sung with Masterworks Chorale, Peninsula Master Chorale, and Stockton
Opera. In addition to her musical activities she served as
narrator for a Fremont Symphony performance of Saint-Saëns'
Carnival of the Animals. Ms. Sloss holds a Bachelor of Music degree
from the Conservatory of the University of the Pacific.
