Gary Sorenson
Gary Sorenson is a recent transplant to the Bay Area, where
he is currently working on his Master of Music Degree
at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Before moving to the Bay
Area, Mr. Sorenson participated in several productions with the Utah
Opera Company, singing comprimario and ensemble roles such as Flora's
servant in La traviata and a ranchhand in Of Mice and Men
under the coaching of the composer himself, Carlisle Floyd.
While in Utah, he was also the recipient of the prestigious Presser
Scholar national scholarship in 1998.
His recent stage credits in the the Bay Area include
Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with West Bay Opera,
Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor and
Escamillo in Carmen with Bay Shore Lyric Opera
The Marriage of Figaro with North Bay Opera and the
Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute, Rimbaud in Count Ory with the
Conservatory Opera Theater, Ruggiero in Halevy's La juive with the
Richmond/Berkeley Jewish Music Festival, and Dr. Falke in
Die Fledermaus with San Jose Lyric Theater.
Mr. Sorenson's upcoming engagements include Papageno with the
International Festival of Rome and multiple recitals in the Bay Area.
