Diane Squires

Diane Squires has garnered critical notice both for her ``charming'' stage prescence and her ``outstanding'' singing voice. A sought-after performer in the Bay Area, she has sung over ten leading roles within the past two years. Noteworthy appearances have included her outstanding Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) for Livermore Valley Opera, a performance praised as a ``delight throughout'', and her debut with West Bay Opera as Flora in our acclaimed production of The Turn of the Screw. Noted for her warm middle range as well as her spectacular top notes, Ms. Squires' repertoire has ranged from coloratura roles such as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute and Oscar in Un ballo in maschera to lyric roles such as Despina in Così fan tutte, Monica in The Medium, and Josephine in HMS Pinafore. She has appeared with Festival Opera of Walnut Creek, the New West Symphony Orchestra, the Jarvis Conservatory, Golden Gate Opera and Lyric Theatre of San Jose. She will make her Capitol Opera debut this June, singing the role of Madame Goldentrill in The Impresario. Ms. Squires has a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.
