Since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1996, she has choreographed for West Bay Opera productions of La traviata and Tartuffe, as well as having taught at and/or choreographed for American Musical Theatre of San Jose, the ArtPath program (as artist-in-residence), C.A.F.E. Theatre of San Francisco, LOV Newark, Menlo Oaks School, Opera Bravura, Pacific Ballet Academy, Peninsula Youth Theatre, Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory, San Carlos Charter Learning Center, Stanford University, and UC Santa Cruz.
A performer of both contemporary and classical productions, she has appeared in favorites such as Steel Magnolias (Shelby), The Tempest (Miranda), Gypsy (Tessie), Little Women (Beth), and Anything Goes (Hope). Favorite dance productions include West Side Story (Shark Dancer), Cinderella (Winter Fairy), Coppélia (Love), The Nutcracker (Clara and Spanish Chocolate), and 42nd Street (Principal Dancer).
Ms. Stinson Serrano has danced locally in Stanford's Spring Migration and Alumni Dance Concerts, The Palo Alto Arts Festival, and Zohar Dance Company's Jazz Dancing and Dance Mosaic Concerts. Other concert performances include Dance Kaleidoscope of The Central Valley, The Merced Arts Council's Black and White Ball, and The CSU Summer Arts Program. She has also appeared with the Stanford Ballet, Merced Civic Ballet, Women at The Well, and Club Maxx.
Recent career highlights for Ms. Stinson Serrano encompass varied activities dancing in Britain as a representative for the United States (1989), appearing on television in an MTV premiere video (1993), producing a concert of original modern dance, music, and visual art (1997), and consulting for a movement-based software program at Lucas Learning. Currently she is working as movement director for C.A.F.E. Theatre and teaching studio classes in ballet and modern dance. Her latest piece, Three Moments on the Head of a Pin, was shown in December.
