West Bay Opera
Connie Strayer
Connie Strayer returns to West Bay Opera this fall to design costumes
for Madama Butterfly; her first project for the company was the 1998
production of The Turn of the Screw.
Ms. Strayer has been designing costumes for over twenty years, and is
currently a Senior Lecturer in the Drama Department at Stanford University.
Some of her design credits include Richard III,
Measure for Measure. and The Illusion at Stanford; The
Merchant of Venice at the Asian American Theatre Company in San Francisco;
and T-Bone and Weasel and A Life at TheatreWorks.
She is also a make-up artist at the San Francisco Opera and San Francisco
Ballet, and is a member of the Bay Area Costumer's Alliance and United
Scenic Artists. She recently completed an assignment as painter/dyer for
the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
