Nicole Takesono, mezzo soprano, makes her West Bay Opera debut
singing the role of Olga in The
Merry Widow. She has appeared with WBO’s Opera in
the Schools program singing the role of Hansel in the school version
of Hansel and Gretel.
Ms. Takesono has performed the roles of Mother (Amahl and
the Night Visitors) with Winchester Orchestra of San José,
Second Lady (The Magic Flute), Mercedes (Carmen),
and Flora (La traviata) with Mission City Opera, Second
Shining One and Madam Wanton (Vaughn Williams, A Pilgrim’s
Progress) with Trinity Lyric Opera, Siébel (Faust)
with Berkeley Opera, and Hansel (Hansel and Gretel)
with Golden Gate Opera and Apollo Educational Touring Company.
She is also a member of the San Francisco Opera Chorus. On the
concert stage, she has appeared in Sopianos annual concert of
traditional Japanese songs, Broadway tunes, and opera selections,
and San Jose State University’s performance of Bruckner’s Te
Deum, and Apollo Opera’s selections from Rigoletto, Der Rosenkavalier,
and Così fan tutte.
Originally from Hawaii, Ms. Takesono earned her BA in Music from
Tufts University. |
