Matthew Treviño

Line

MattMatthew Treviño, bass, makes his West Bay Opera debut singing the role of Sarastro in The Magic Flute.

In 2001, Mr. Treviño performed the role of Sylvano (Cavalli, La Calisto) in San Francisco Opera Center’s Adler Showcase and, as a member of the Merola Young Artist Program, he sang the roles of Simone (Gianni Schicchi) and Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte). He later repeated the role of Don Alfonso in the 2001 national tour of Così fan tutte with Western Opera Theater. He returned to Merola Opera in the summer of 2003 to sing the role of Basilio ( Il barbiere di Siviglia).

Mr. Treviño’s other roles include Samuel (Un ballo in maschera) with Festival Opera, the Commendatore (Don Giovanni) and Sparafucile (Rigoletto) with Amarillo Opera, Don Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro) with Teatro Lirico D’Europa, Elder Ott (Susannah), Ceprano (Rigoletto), and Second Guard (Salome) with Fort Worth Opera, and Colline (La bohème) with Hidden Valley Opera. Future roles include the Police Sergeant (Pirates of Penzance) with Nevada Opera, Simone (Gianni Schicchi) with Opera Santa Barbara, and Alidoro (Cenerentola) with Pacific Repertory Opera.
