West Bay Opera
Trinity Palo Alto Choir School
The Trinity Palo Alto Choir School is designed for children who really
love to sing, and teaches music theory, music history and singing technique
as well as choral performance in a disciplined but nurturing, family-like
setting. Organized in 1983 by Sally Treadway, music director, and
Laura Barton, managing director, as a five-week summer program, the
school began a year-round after-school program in 1993 for children in
grades 1-8. The Choir School prepared children for West Bay Opera's
productions of La bohème in 1995 and Tosca in 1997,
and the children's class is hired to sing for a variety of organizations,
weddings, background recordings, etc. The class regularly performs a major
choral work with adult chorus and orchestra in August and a Lessons and Carols
Service in December. For more information about the Choir School, call
Laura Barton at (650) 965-0139.
