West Bay Opera

Shane Troll

Shane Troll is very excited to be making his Bay Area operatic debut in West Bay Opera's production of Mahagonny. Shane completed work at C.S.U. Chico where he graduated with honors, receiving a M.A. in conducting and a B.A. in vocal performance and music education. While at C.S.U. Chico, Shane appeared in many opera performances, including Gianni Schicchi, Copland's The Tender Land, Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, and Così fan tutte. Shane also divided his time with his conducting duties, overseeing three vocal ensembles and assisting with the Chico Symphony. Recently, Shane has been focusing his attention on the studying of symphonic scores in hopes of either continuing his scholastic career with a Ph.D. or applying his current talents to education. If given the opportunity, Shane would like to obtain a degree in musicology studying the music of Benjamin Britten, whose music has become a source of great musical inspiration and love.
