West Bay Opera
Lin White
Lin White is the Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Music Theatre Company,
a company which she founded in 1975 for the purpose of developing young
professional singers in the field of opera. She has directed over two
dozen operas there, ranging from Cimarosa and Mozart to Poulenc and Bernstein. In the last few years she has also directed opera productions at the
John Anson Ford Theatre in Los Angeles
(Mozart's La Finta Semplice and Rossini's La Scala di Seta),
Pacific Repertory Opera (Menotti's Amahl and the Night Vistors and
The Consul, Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Le Villi,
and Rossini's La Cenerentola)
Santa Barbara Grand Opera (Amahl and Hansel and Gretel), and
the Redlands Bowl (La Bohème and The Barber of Seville).
Last year she organized The Opera Discovery Showcase, an advanced
program of operatic scenes and arias prepared for management and agents,
in New York City.
A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, Ms. White
has directed opera programs at Los Angeles Valley College, the University
of California at Irvine, Chapman College, and the South Bay Conservatory
in California.
