Mr. Winthrop has performed in operas in Southern California in such roles as the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Faust in Faust, and Alfredo in La Traviata. In July 1995 he appeared as Don José in Carmen with the Hollywood Opera Theatre. He is currently a regular chorus member with the San Francisco Opera.
