Wayne Wong
Wayne Wong, bass-baritone, makes his West Bay Opera debut singing the role of Narumov in The Queen of Spades. Mr. Wong has appeared frequently in the Bay Area, in roles including Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and Frank (Die Fledermaus) with Berkeley Opera, Don Pedro (La Périchole) and Count Oscar (Bluebeard) with Pocket Opera, and Ashby (La fanciulla del West) and Pizarro (Fidelio) with San Francisco Lyric Opera. Other engagements include Oakland Opera Theater, Teatro Bocchino (in the world premiere of David Morris’ Il bobo sferrato), and the recent workshop of the first installment of the multinational collaborative-explorative opera project J.H.: Between Earth and Heaven. Mr. Wong’s upcoming engagements include Romeo and Juliet with Berkeley Opera and Offenbach’s The Bandits with Pocket Opera. He is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and Brown University.
