Conductor: Michel SingherDirector: David Ostwald Chorus Master: Bruce Olstad Performance dates: October 15, 17, 23 and 24, 2010 Chorus Music Rehearsal Period Starts Sat. August 28. Rehearsals every Saturday 11 am-2, and Tuesday 7-10 p.m. Audition dates: Saturday, July 31, 2010 - 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (primary date); Wednesday, August 4, 2010 - 7:00-9:00 p.m. (alternate date) AUDITION PIECE: Please download the audition piece (pp. 240-245 in the Ricordi piano/vocal score) by clicking here You are expected to read through and familiarize yourself well with your part, including notes, rhythms and words, before you come to auditions, but you are not expected to memorize it. Please print out the audition piece and put it in a ring binder, and bring it to the auditions, so you can read from it. ATTENTION Tenors and Basses: please be prepared to sing the off stage chorus (coro interno) parts on pp 241-2, in addition to the regular chorus lines. Audition format: Our auditions are a lot of fun. No need to dread the thought. We review the piece as a group and sing through it a couple of times. Then applicants are heard individually, to check voice range, then the whole group is called back in and we do quartets, to listen to color and blend, and then we sing the piece as a group again a couple of times. For this reason, all applicants are expected to be at the audition for the full 2 hours. Audition results will be posted here shortly after the second day of auditions.
